Sometimes an employer will suspend an employee pending on the outcome of an investigation or criminal matter. If you are suspended pending the outcome of an investigation or a criminal matter that means that your employer doesn’t have to place you in the workplace while that investigation is ongoing. Often employees who are the subject, especially public employees, of a criminal investigation related to their work are suspended pending the outcome of that criminal investigation. Once these criminal charges are resolved and hopefully resolved in favor of the employee, that employee may proceed to start the process to be reinstated to their employment.
